Club Elections
New Officers for the 2011-2012 Term

Our By-Laws provide that we elect new officers every two years.  The process is that the Nominating Committee, which is appointed by the President, presents a recommended slate of officers to the body at the November meeting.  Elections are held at the December meeting.

At the November meeting the Nominating Committee submitted a slate of officers consisting of the current officeholders, for the new term.  Other nominations may be made from the floor at the December meeting.  Nominations can come from the floor, so long as the person being nominated is present or has given his consent in writing to the nomination. Candidates may be nominated for all offices: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

Written secret ballots will be provided for any office where there is more than one candidate.

If you would like to run for an office, be present at the December meeting.

Article VII. Elections

Section A. Elections shall be held at the December general meeting of each even numbered year. Officers shall be elected by majority vote of members present. A
written ballot shall be prepared if there is more than one candidate for any office.

Section B. Additional nominations from the floor at the December general meeting of each even-numbered year are in order provided the nominees are present or have given their consent in writing.

ByLaws Amendments
Changing How Committee Chairs are Appointed

A recommended ByLaws Amendment will be presented for vote at the December meeting.  The proposed ByLaws Amendment can be viewed by clicking here.

The calendar is in monthly mode by default, but you can click on "week" to see the calendar by the week.  If you click on any event it will open up and give you details.  The calendar can also be printed.
There are several events occurring during the next few weeks.  Be sure and check the calendar to find out when and where.

We expect to have another great meeting of the San Fernando Valley Republican Club on Tuesday, December 7th.

I want to wish each of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.  We have a lot to be thankful for.
